Many warriors, including Takeda Shingen and Date Masamune, loved hot spring baths.
Prepare your body for the future with hot water and Chinese medicine.

Byakkoyu has the familiar smell of chamomile, ideal for those who dislike medicinal smells.

The Chinese herbs in Byakkoyu include chamomile, peach leaves, tōki (Angelica acutiloba, a type of wild celery), liquorice, and tea seed oil.

These luxurious bath salts are made only with herbal medicines to prepare the body for the harsh environment of Kyoto, Japan's ancient capital.

Four animal spirits, Blue Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise govern the four directions of the sky, east, west, south, and north, and are collectively called the Four Divine Beasts.

The white tiger in the west, called Byakko in Japan, is the guardian deity of the rear gate, guarding the west where the sun sets. It is believed to run along the western path and glare at you to keep evil spirits away and bring happiness. In China, the tiger is said to be the king of the hundred animals, and the white tiger is considered a special deity because it is believed that if a tiger survives for 500 years, it gains spiritual power and becomes a white tiger.

This product contains licorice (Kanzo), which has anti-inflammatory and skin beautifying effects, and tōki, which enhances blood circulation.  It also contains chamomile and peach leaf, which soothe dry skin and other skin problems, and tea seed oil, which is believed to prevent not only dryness but also blemishes and dullness. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the fragrant water of chamomile and enjoy a moment of therapeutic bathing that cares for the inside and outside of your body and mind.

Enjoy the natural power of a Chinese medicinal bath at home, worthy of the name Byakko.

Herbal medicine was introduced to Japan from China along with Buddhism and is still loved by many here for preventing and remedying illness. This medicinal bath is made by Kameda Risaburo Yakuho, which has been selling Chinese medicines in Kyoto for more than a century. It was created so that anyone can enjoy herbal medicine anywhere and anytime.
